- you feel better;
- in a matter of about 2 years, some a lot sooner, you reach your optimal body mass (and with it weight);
- no or at least a lot less body odors
- no gas problems, seriously, unless you make a bad combination of foods in a non-monomeal. In such case, you may let some gas, but it’s not smelly;
- you have more energy;
- you sleep better;
- by not burdening your body with digesting heavy food and ingesting toxins, the immune system gets a boost and is much more functional, so you are of better health;
- you are more in sync with your body, you feel it better, feel its needs – your needs better, if not perfectly;
- in the first few weeks, by not ingesting salts, other minerals and toxins, your body gets the option to get rid of most of accumulated toxins and minerals, thus excreting them with water. So you might lose a lot of water, with it a lot of weight, depends on how much toxins your body must excrete. Remember this first weight loss is water (with minerals and toxins) and in time your body will get the right water-body mass ratio. Don’t let this scare you;
- when more fluid get excreted, you pee more, at least in the first few days or weeks, meaning, you sometimes have to pee up to three times a night, but this resolves quickly enough;
- also, at the begining, you may experience some more mucus excretion through all the mucosas, appearing as caughing in the morning and/or excreting through the nose, because the body gets rid of excess minerals through mucus as well;
- depending on how much your body has to cleanse when starting this diet, you also may experience some head or/and stomach aches or digestive issues in one way or another. All this settles in a matter of a few weeks at most. If not – in case you experience more extreme unpleasant sensations, stop and check with a professional nutritionist and a doctor;
- as you get the right hydration from the inside, it shows well on your largest organ – your skin. It glows;
- your hair and nails grow and glow;
- it helps with chronical deseases. In my case, I’ve had eczema ever since my body exists, and with raw vegan food the situtation has become completely bearable. It hasn’t gone away completely, which I must admit, I expected it to, but still, it’s become much less of a problem. I’m absolutely not saying this diet cures chronical and autoimmune deseases, but I dare say it does make them more bearable;
- You become much better at withstanding extreme temperatures in heat and cold;
- digestion works like clockwork;
- for women – no more painful menstrual cramps, no more menstural problems at all. Some may even lose their menstruation altogether, which is a big plus (but not their ovulation, to answer the question that usually follows)
- no more cravings. Hunger comes slowly, gradually and is very patient, you can easily last a few hours before having a proper peaceful meal;
- this kind of food needs hardly any or no packaging, specially plastic, thus you are more environmentally friendly <3
- you get and feel clean from the inside out. It’s one of the best feelings in life, trust me.
All in all, raw vegan lifestyle affects all aspects of life in a very good way. By having more energy, feeling and looking better, you are much more motivated to do and deal with everything good (and not so good) life brings your way. In other words, you have almost endless energy for everything good you can do for yourself, for everyone you love and for your environment.
I’m not saying it’s the solution to all our physical and mental problems but it definitely helps solve or at least partially solve most of them. I am saying however, at least from my perspective, this kind of lifestyle improves everything.
Note: pay attention to your state, your nutrition. We are prone to iron and B12 defficiency, so make sure get regular blood and whole system check up.
Also note: before you go raw vegan, make sure you are properly informed. Read, listen, get all the information you can, because you’re going to need the knowledge every step of the way, specially in the first few months, or in the first year or so.
If you’re ever at crossroads, undecisive about what to and not to eat, maybe want to fall off the wagon and go into junk food, take a different point of view: there’s a cooked (salted, oil containing) meal which would go to waste if you didn’t eat it. Oh, what a waste! You know what? It would go to waste anyway, the difference being either directly or through your body. You don’t get anything good with dead, salted, oily »food«. Let it go its own way, you’re better off with nothing until you get your organic nutrition meal the next day or whenever.
I’m not going to tell what to and not to eat and certainly not how to live. These are just my experiences, you don’t take my word for it. I will provide you with recipes, nutrition facts and occasional personal experience, but you must do your own research, see what works for you and listen to the one that will tell what you need best – your body. If you ever need any advice, you know where to find me. If I wouldn’t be able to help you myself, I can direct you to someone who could, feel free to ask away!
When properly informed you are able to decide for your own, what it is that fits you most, maybe you need an occasional cooked meal, like potatoes or legumes. The books and internet will provide you all sorts of information, some of them may be excluding. In time you become very good at feeling your own needs, this, and having a good base of knowledge helps you decide what it is you want for yourself, your body, your mind and – your life. No book can tell your body what it really needs, listen and it will tell you.
Books I highly recommend starting with this lifestyle:
