Is there a person out there that found a way to travel the urban world without a daily necessity bag? I mean, we can all walk around in nature, no »necessities«. There we need nothing but fresh water along the way, on occasions some food and shelter but that’s it. Urban envirnoment, however, is more complex and much harder to survive in. At least for me.

So to make that survivable, there’s a small bag within my daily backpack that contains the bare necessities. Makeup is in in quotation marks, because most of the items aren’t makeup as you’ll see. Through experience I have narrowed it down to were it contains exactly everything I need and nothing I don’t:

• dental floss first, always
• lip balm that doubles as a facial cream if there’s a dry skin emergency
• tinted lip balm or lipstick (not a necessity, but recently I found that lipsticks make me so happy, that I added one to the bag)
• hand cream
• folding hair brush paired with a mirror
• hand disinfection gel (I always carry this item, for years, but mostly needed this year)
• a smaller bag, containing emergency hair items (so they don’t get lost in the larger bag):
  • spiral tie
  • pins
  • hair elastic
  • nail file
• the bag usually also contains daily pads

When I travel, there are a few things added to the collection: patches and some other first aid travel necessities.

This brings a memory of a conversation between my mother and her mother where the latter was curious about what it is that my mother is always carrying around in her bags and she replied: »First aid.« Agreed.

The brands listed are all vegan, work well with sensitive, alergy prone skin and are price performance. Recommend!
