Mádara – best (facial) skin care – daily routine and review

Our story with Mádara started pretty randomly. My husband in his young thirties needed a good hydrating cream as his skin was quite dry. We were looking for something organic and vegan, so the sales lady in Müller directed us to this brand.

She specifically advised him this Smart one:

with a deeply hydrating formula. After six months of using it, his skin is more smooth, less wrinkly, very well hydrated and definitely not dry anymore.

On that purchase I got some testers to try out – the SOS serum and cream. They felt good on my very dry and sensitive skin. Even though they were beneficial to my skin, I decided to purchase different kind of creams, I chose a day one, a night one, an eye cream, a hydrating oil mixture and a mask, the latter from the SOS branch.

Daily routine

Every morning I add one drop of oil mixture to one pump of day cream and apply.

Every evening:

  1. cleansing milk, one pump

2. eye cream, less than one pump

3. night cream (one pump) + one drop of oil mixture

4. one evening a week, trying to do it at least twice a week, I use the SOS mask.

The mask feels very good on the skin and trully is deeply hydrating. It’s a wash off or leave in. I haven’t tried leaving it in over night yet as I didn’t need to do that yet. But using it so far has proven very beneficial to the skin.

We also purchased a deodorant. It smells nice, it works for a few hours but then it’s function wears off. I can’t say it’s the best deodorant I’ve ever had, but it’s not bad.

Conclusion

Our experience with Madara so far has been great. The big plus is that it is organic and vegan, made from the essences of the deep Latvian forests. These are the absolute best facial care products I’ve ever tried on my dry and allergy prone skin. The only down side would be the prices, everything is quite pricey, but if you follow their news, they have some discounts in online store every now and then, so it pays off to wait for those.

These creams hydrated my skin so well that I’ve gone from two pumps of each cream every day to one pump of each. And even if by any reason it happens that I miss an application, there is no problem at all. I need no extra protection or hydration during the day. My skin even survived a good week in very windy Iceland with no problems at all, now that’s bullet proof. Definitely staying loyal to this brand.

There are creams, cleansers, oils, body lotions, shampoos and what not, for every skin type, check their site and online store.

Pros:

  • organic
  • vegan
  • provides good and deep hydration
  • does not irritate sensitive skin

Cons:

  • mostly plastic bottles, non recycled (but recyclable, to an extent)
  • relatively high prices

Overall: highly recommend!
