What made me happy in September

  • The fact that I could walk again, slowly, but at least I got to move around.
  • Having the best husband.
  • Having the best friend in the world along with other very good friends. Best people in the world.

  • These books. Had them on my wish list for a long time, then saw them in a local bookstore and bought them at once. They’ve been around for a while, but as a life-long Harry Potter fan, I hold myself back strongly against buying everything HP related, because it’s too easy to fall in the frenzy. I allow myself up to 3 items per year – mostly stationery or books. 😊

  • These slippers, pink, soft and fluffy!

  • The seaside and salt in the air.

  • The views I finally got to see after being inside for 2 months.

  • Mushrooms.

  • All the gifts and treasures nature gave us throughout the summer: aronia berries my friend gave me, grapes, tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins, beans, apples, pears and pomegranates.

  • All the marmalades I made (started making them this year for the first time. My mother always made them before, now I make them by her recipe. I think she’s happy I managed to do this.)
  • The weather – the rainy, gloomy weather and mid temperatures – not too hot, not too cold.
  • Spending time with family and friends.
  • I love my home, but, oh, was it good to leave it after 2 months and wander around.
  • To be able to help my father, who, unfortunately, broke his leg right when I was almost rehabilitated. It was the worst feeling being so incapable, I couldn’t even help my family. Being helpless and feeling nothing but anger and sadness was awful. Furtunately I could make that up a little bit, when I could, by bringing him our grapes.

  • Finally starting the physical work that had been postponed due to my immobility, all the household and garden work.
  • To be able to just go out and around, anywhere, whether doing chores, running errands, doing the work, gardening, etc.
  • Finding motivation and the will for living again.
