Prepare larger pieces of fabric, sew the fabric (inside out) to make a cylindrical shape. In case of using old trouser pieces, the cylindrical shape is already made.

Sew one side of the cylinder (inside out) to get a baggy shape.

Turn the bag so outer side is outside and fill the bag with smaller textile pieces or crumpled paper/cardboard pieces or whatever material you have lying around that you would otherwise throw away. Fill it to almost, but not completely, full.

Sew the bag together at the top to a round shape. This time we can’t sew it inside out, but we’ll use this to our advantage.

Take a longer piece of rope, the length depending on the size of the filled sacks. Start at the bottom, place the middle of the rope at the base of the pumpkin and start intertwining the rope around the sack to make a pumpkin shape.

Now you’ll need to glue a piece of rope to the sticks that will represent the petiole. Stick the made petiole to the top, where the stitching is facing out.

You can add some ornaments if you so desire, like bows, glitter etc.

You can place a candle safely among or besides the pumpkins and you’re ready for a fun October!
